News Letter June 2021
Hello all
What a busy few months we have had at nursery
since we opened fully at the start of March. We have had a lot of new families
join the Parkfield Family and are very pleased to see that all our existing
families chose to return to us after the winter lock down.
Parkfield as well as your children have gone from
strength to strength over the last few months and it has been our pleasure to
support the new children and their families settle into nursery life.
We are continuing to constantly update our
policies & procedures in line with the Government guidance on Covid-19 and
we will notify you of any changes that will impact nursery.

News:
Firstly, we would like to congratulate Miss Jayme
Rollings & her partner Neil on the birth of their daughter Evie who was
born at the end of March. Some of the children might have informed you that
Miss Rollings called in with Evie a couple of weeks ago.
We would also like to congratulate Miss Shannon
Marshall & her Partner Jack who are expecting their first baby in September
2021.
We would like to Welcome Mrs Ashleigh Rayner to
the team who has joined us in the red room and Miss Nicole Spiteri who is
joining us in the Rainbow room.
We would also like to say a sad farewell to Mrs
Dodd who left us at the start of June to work for her family business.
A
message from Anne Hooper-Brown (Nursery Owner)
Since the COVID lockdowns I have been working from
home. However as some of you may be aware, my husband Martin has recently been
diagnosed with cancer and is receiving care at the Freemans Hospital in
Newcastle. He is responding well to treatment but I have decided to step back
from Parkfield to enable me to support Martin. I would like to thank the
amazing team at Parkfield led by Julie who have been a great support and all
the kind words from parents.

Preschool children 2021
Due to the current pandemic and the uncertainty of
restrictions, we have taken the decision
not to have a graduation ceremony. We will be having parties for the
preschool children week commencing the 12th July in their normal
sessions. Letters have been sent home asking you to let us know your child’s
last day so that we can make sure that we have their photo journals ready for
you to take home.
September 2021
For Children who are currently in
the Red room, Rainbow room and Yellow room you should have now had a letter to
confirm your children’s sessions starting in September 2021. Some of you have
made some adjustment to your hours and these will be effective from Tuesday 31st
August However if your child is term time only, these will not start until
Thursday 2nd September.
Children who turn 3 between 1st
April – 31st August, are
automatically entitled to 15 free hours at nursery, term time only (This can be
stretched over the 50 weeks of the year we are open) but some working families
might be entitled to the 30 hours of free funding, term time only (which can
also be spread over the 50 weeks). To see if you are eligible you will need to
apply yourselves through HMRCwww.childcarechoices.gov.uk If successful they will give you a code which
you will need to give to the nursery so that we can access your funding. Codes
must be updated every 12 weeks.
Please remember to keep your 30-hour
codes up to date or you will risk losing it.

What the children have been up to
The children have had an exciting time in nursery
over the past few months. We looked after 10 eggs and watched them hatch into
fluffy chicks.
Aurora and Little Bo-Peep 2 lambs came to visit
and the children were able to bottle feed them which was great fun.
They have celebrated St Georges day with an
afternoon tea and the children celebrated their birthdays with their friends in
their Covid bubbles.
Whilst the staff do plan activities for the
children, we do encourage them to think of what fun things they would like to
do.
